It’s been a long time between Stomps so we’re pretty excited to announce we’re back at Adelaide Oval in a COVIDSafe way on Sunday 20 June, 2021.

Join us for an epic stair climbing challenge inside the iconic Adelaide Oval.
Climb your way up, down and around the bays in this 6000 stair climb. There will be rest stops (pick a seat!), drink stations and music playing to keep you focused and pumped. Get ready Adelaide!
If you’re looking for something different for your next fitness challenge, something other than a fun run, colour run or bruising obstacle race, look no further than Stadium Stomp Adelaide Oval. It’s damn tough at a pace, scenic at a stroll and an amazing experience all round.
There are course options for everyone – full course (6,000 stairs), short course (3,300 stairs) and Junior Stomp (1,000 stairs). And for those who want to stomp until they drop Stomp Unlimited is for you. So no matter what your fitness there’s a course length for you.
Choose your own start time when you register but be advised, early wave times fill quickly.
Stadium Stomp Adelaide Oval is not just for the SA locals but a great excuse for anyone to come and experience this electric city.
Adelaide Oval is a 53,500 seat stadium located in the heart of Adelaide where the North Terrace and the Riverbank precinct meet. It’s super easy to get to thanks to the new Riverbank Bridge connecting rail, tram and buses to the venue.

Each participant is required to bring a physical signed copy of the event waiver on the day.
SPECTATORS must also register. No on-the-day walk-ins. Sorry (blame COVID).
Event waivers will emailed (check spam) to each participant closer to the date to download and print out. If you cannot locate this email, you can download a copy here.
Transferring registrations – Sorry no transfers as we practice a COVIDSafe event.
Things you need:
- Your confirmation email (with event QR code)
- A signed hard copy of the event waiver
- Your bib (if you had it posted) – you’ll be allocated one upon entry if you did not.
- Your phone to scan the MySA QR code upon entry
- Read and comply to the Pre-event health check (below) within 24 hours of the event
Gates will open at 7am. On arrival, head to the South Gate located within Telstra Plaza. All the event day action (registration, bib collection, warm up, marshalling, etc.) will be stationed within this area.
We recommend arriving 30 minutes prior to your wave time.

Venue Conditions of Entry
Due to COVID-19 the conditions of entry for this venue have changed. Please refer here for the latest information. This may change again as restrictions change so please check back closer to the event date.
Wave times commence from 8:00am with new waves every 15 minutes. You will be released from the start line with social distancing in mind keeping within the 3 people per 4 square metre ruling. This may change as restrictions change so please check back closer to the event date.
Your bib number will indicate to us which wave time you should be in and our MC will be on loud speaker to call up each wave time to the start area as required. Listen out for these.
Warm-up and marshalling
A fitness trainers will conduct a fun, quick warm up routine for your wave before you stomp.
There will no bag compound this year as we practice being a COVIDSafe event.
Transport & parking
There are plenty of public transport options to get you to Adelaide Oval. Your closest train station is Adelaide Railway station, a short stroll across Riverbank Bridge to the Oval. Alternatively, take a bus or ride your bike – bike racks are available. For bus, train and tram timetables visit the Adelaide Metro website.
Adelaide Oval’s Wilson operated East Car Park is offering $8 (+ $1 processing fee) car spaces with their Book A Bay special. Please use promo code STOMPAO when booking. This rate applies to pre-purchased car parking tickets and is available to the first 100 bookings in each car park location only. The rate is a flat fee (no entry or exit time restrictions for that day).
If these parks sell out, there is still parking available in the east or north car parks whereby participants may pull a ticket and pay at the pay station prior to exit.
For parking in the city, consider the Wilson Car Park located at 30 Hindley Street, Adelaide (approx. 700 metres from the venue) – Sunday rate is charged per the hour with a maximum of $15.
If you haven’t been posted your bib (optional payment), then you will be assigned one upon event check-in after we scan your confirmation email QR code.
Collecting a bib for a friend?
At this stage there will be no need as all bibs will be either posted to the registrant’s contact address or allocated directly upon check-in.
Merchandise may be available to purchase (pending availability) on the day from our merchandise area. However, we recommend purchasing your merchandise when you register (cut-off dates apply) to ensure that you have a full range of sizes and styles available to you before they sell out. Any pre-event purchases will be posted out. Purchases at the venue will be cashless.
Other event information
Course Time Limit
Stadium Stomp is not a timed event.
Participants will have until 2 hours after the last full course wave of the day to complete the full course. After this time, announcements will be made over the bowl mic and a member of the Stadium Stomp Operations team will direct any participants remaining on course to make their way down to the field of play to complete their finisher lap.
If there are minimal people on course and resources permit, consideration will be given by the Event Director to allow the participant(s) to continue in conjunction with either a Stadium Stomp volunteer or event staff member following them. NB. The course may be packed-down around participants as this process occurs.
To allow yourself the most time to complete the course, we recommend registering for an early wave time.

Stadium Stomp will go ahead rain or shine, barring any inclement weather conditions that would put the safety of the participants at risk. In the event of inclement weather, modifications to the route may be made to ensure everyone’s safety.

Medallions will be awarded at the finish line to all participants that complete any of our course options.
Spectators need to advance purchase a Spectator Pass (free). This can be done via the REGISTER NOW button and choosing SPECTATOR ONLY ticket. Sorry, no walk ins. All spectators must pre-book.
Recovery Zone and Massage
To be COVIDSafe no massage will be offered at this event
Official event photographs will be taken by Supersport Images on the course and at the finish line. These will be available to view and/or purchase post-event via their website. Participants will be emailed a link to their photos once these are available. Please allow 24-48 hours for these to become available.

Please note: All Stadium Stomp Adelaide Oval participants are required to sign a printed copy of the Terms & Conditions and bring it with them before collecting their participant bib.
A reminder that as a Stadium Stomp participant or spectator you are asked to comply with any COVID-19 related safety protocols or requirements (including by way of signage or floor markings at the Venue) throughout the duration of Stadium Stomp. These include:
- Practice good hand hygiene including sanitizing after each touchpoint eg. water stations
- Maintain physical distancing requirements (including while queuing)
- Please check-in via the Stadium’s QR code
- Please obey entry & exit times for your arrival & departure
- Please seek assistance if becoming unwell during the event (locate security, event officials or first aid / in-event health staff)
- Please recognise person limits for particular spaces and areas
- You are encouraged to download the Commonwealth Government COVID-19 app prior to attending the event.
- You are required to download the mySA Gov app.
About The Course
Course options available make this event open to all levels of fitness. There will be drink stations scattered throughout, music to keep you going and of course plenty of seats should you need a break.
Please note Stadium Stomp is a challenge not a race. This is not a timed event.
Full Course (12 yrs +)
6000 stairs (up and down total): The course will take anywhere from 45 minutes up to 90 minutes to complete depending on your fitness level. You’ll stomp all over the grandstands from the shallower lower levels to the steep upper decks, finishing with a lap of the boundary.
Short Course (12 yrs +)
3300 stairs (up and down total): The course will take around 30 – 45 minutes to complete. This course utilises level 1 plus the upper Riverband Stand (new in 2020) and most of the Western Stand, skipping the upper levels of the most challenging Eastern stand. You’ll still feel it especially with the addition of the Upper Riverbank stand. You’ll finish with a lap of the boundary. If 3300 stairs still sounds too much, we suggest the 1000 stairs course below, which is also open to adults.
Junior Course (5-11 yrs)
1000 stairs (up and down total): For little stompers wanting to stomp with their parent(s) or guardian. We encourage health, fitness and movement in youngsters and think our short course (1000 stairs – see above) is just perfect. Junior only waves (last wave of the day) will ensure your little people aren’t over run by our older stompers.
*Each junior must be accompanied by a registered junior course adult ($29.95 full price – check pricing table for current price).
Stomp Unlimited (12 yrs +)
As many stairs as you dare: Stomp your way around the full course as many times as you dare from the first wave time until the last. This category is not for the faint hearted and numbers are strictly limited. You will be required to finish the course in full and head back to the start line to commence your subsequent laps. Earn an additional finishers medal each lap.

As you finish
As a final thrilling finish to your epic stomp, you’ll complete a lap of the boundary line so you can soak up what you’ve just achieved at this magnificent ground.
Water stations and toilets
You are welcome to carry your own drink bottle around Adelaide Oval, however there will be water stations located throughout the course with one servicing the lower levels and two servicing the upper levels PLUS a finish line water station.
Please be aware that toilets will be open at each water station on course and in the main concourse/Expo area but will be locked elsewhere.
Withdrawing during the event
If you are unable to complete the course for any reason, please alert a Volunteer or staff member who will determine the safest way to exit the course and escort you back to the starting area.
Medical assistance and first aid
Qualified medical staff will be located around the ground to assist with any medical issues that may arise. If you spot someone needing medical assistance, please get the attention of the nearest volunteer who will then alert medical staff. Volunteers will all be wearing high visibility vests so will be easy to spot on course.
What to watch out for
It’s a concrete jungle out there! The stadium is full of twists and turns. Stairs will vary in height, width, gradient and the number of stairs per aisle depending on where you are climbing.
If it’s raining take extra care.
Rest and take a seat if or when you need to. This is permitted anywhere along the course.
Make use of the handrails – they help stabilise and double as a great arm work out!
