Conditions of Entry

Stadium Stomp is an event held within the SCG. Anyone entering this venue will need to comply with the SCG Conditions of Entry.

Wave times

Wave times commence from 8:00am with new waves every 15 minutes. You will be released from the start line with social distancing in mind.

Your bib number will indicate to us which wave time you should be in and our MC will be on loud speaker to call up each wave time to the start area as required. Listen out for these.

Warm-up and marshalling

A fitness trainer will conduct a fun, quick warm up routine for your wave before you stomp.

Kit/ Bib collection

You will be assigned your bib upon event check-in after we scan your confirmation email QR code.

    Collecting for a friend?

There will be no need as bibs will be allocated directly upon check-in for each individual.

    Merchandise

Merchandise may be available to purchase (pending availability) on the day from our merchandise stand. However, we recommend purchasing your merchandise when you register (cut-off dates apply) to ensure that you have a full range of sizes and styles available to you before they sell out. Any pre-event purchases will be posted out. Purchases at the venue will be cashless.

    Bag Compound

We encourage you to leave your belongings at home and carry just what you need with you. A small compound will be available for those that need it. We ask for your patience in this area.

Please collect your bib first as you will need the rip off tag from it for bag compound.

    Transport & parking

The SCG is located on Driver Avenue in Moore Park, next to Centennial Park.

    Public Transport

We strongly encourage you to use public transport on the day, as this is the best way to get to the SCG. Your closest train station is Central Station, which is about a 1.2km walk from the SCG. However you can also catch a bus from Central Station. See the SCG website for full transport details.

    Car Parking

Car parking (paid) is available at the Entertainment Quarter (southern end Driver Ave). Stadium Stomp is not classified as a major event so normal parking rates should apply.

    Other event information

    Course Time Limit

Stadium Stomp is not a timed event.

Participants will have until 2 hours after the last full course wave of the day to complete the full course. After this time, announcements will be made over the bowl mic and a member of the Stadium Stomp Operations team will direct any participants remaining on course to make their way down to the field of play to complete their finisher lap.

If there are minimal people on course and resources permit, consideration will be given by the Event Director to allow the participant(s) to continue in conjunction with either a Stadium Stomp volunteer or event staff member following them.  NB. The course may be packed-down around participants as this process occurs.

To allow yourself the most time to complete the course, we recommend registering for an early wave time.

    Water Stations

4 water stations will be available on course (finish line included). To help us reduce waste from dosposable cups we encourage you to bring your own filled water bottle or camel pack to the event. Look out for the Water Station signs whilst on course as some are located slightly off course.

    Wet Weather

Stadium Stomp will go ahead rain or shine, barring any inclement weather conditions that would put the safety of the participants at risk. In the event of inclement weather, modifications to the route may be made to ensure everyone’s safety.

Check www.facebook.com/stadiumstomp for updates in the event of bad weather.

    About the Course

Course options available make this event open to all levels of fitness. There will be drink stations scattered throughout, music to keep you going and of course plenty of seats should you need a break.

Please note Stadium Stomp is a challenge not a race. This is not a timed event.

    Full Course (12 yrs +)

6700 stairs (up and down total): The course will take anywhere from 45 minutes to 2+ hours to complete depending on your fitness level. You’ll be repeating some of the course twice within the SCG to achieve the high stair count that is the full course. Note for previous stompers: With the demolition of Allianz Stadium course changes had to be made.

    Short Course (12 yrs +)

4000 stairs (up and down total): The course will take anywhere from 30+ minutes to complete. This course will take you through most of the SCG experiencing both the upper and lower levels.

    Stomp Unlimited (12 yrs +)

As many stairs as you dare: Stomp your way around the full course as many times as you dare from the first wave time until the last. This category is not for the faint hearted and numbers are strictly limited. You will be required to finish the course in full and head back to the start line to commence your subsequent laps. Earn an additional finishers medal each lap.

    Course Map

    Short Course

    Full course explained:

The full course participants are expected to do TWO LAPS of the short course map with the exception of the Don Bradman Stand and the MA Noble Stand. The first lap is done once the upper deck of the Bill O’Reilly Stand is completed. Full course participants will then run back past the start line at ground level and complete their second lap – only this time, once they have completed the upper deck of the Bill O’Reilly Stand they head upstairs to the Don Bradman Stand and the MA Noble Stand to complete their 6700 stair count before popping out on the oval for their victory lap.

Pay attention to the LAP CHECKPOINT signs. If you are a full course participant you will go past this once at ground level. When you see it again, you’ll head upstairs to the Don Bradman Stand.

Don’t worry, as long as you follow the signs and directions from volunteers it will all make sense on the day 🙂

    As you finish

As a final thrilling finish to your epic stomp, you’ll complete a lap of the SCG boundary line so you can soak up what you’ve just achieved.

    Water stations and toilets

You are welcome to carry your own drink bottle around the course, however there will be water stations located throughout the course with four stations in total (including the finish line).

Please be aware that toilets will be open at each water station on course and in the main concourse/Expo area but will be locked elsewhere.

    Withdrawing during the event

If you are unable to complete the course for any reason, please alert a Volunteer or staff member who will determine the safest way to exit the course and escort you back to the starting area.

    Medical assistance and first aid

Qualified medical staff will be located around the ground to assist with any medical issues that may arise. If you spot someone needing medical assistance, please get the attention of the nearest volunteer who will then alert medical staff. Volunteers will all be wearing high visibility vests so will be easy to spot on course.

    What to watch out for

It’s a concrete jungle out there! The stadium is full of twists and turns. Stairs will vary in height, width, gradient and the number of stairs per aisle depending on where you are climbing.

    Course tips

If it’s raining take extra care.

Rest and take a seat if or when you need to. This is permitted anywhere along the course.

Make use of the handrails – They help stabilise and double as a great arm work out!

If someone needs assistance, please alert a volunteer or staff member
