SHIFT DETAILS

Whatever shift time you are rostered it’s important that you ALWAYS begin and finish your shift in the Volunteer HQ. This is your check-in, check-out point.

We can’t itemise everyone’s shifts on this page, but you can access yours directly by logging into your dashboard and viewing your rostered shifts. Some of you have selected more than one shift when registering (you obviously didn’t mind where you were rostered – thank you), in this case we have chosen a shift for you. Of course, please reach out to us prior to the event if you cannot do your shift or wish to change your role and we’ll do our best to accommodate you where possible.

GETTING TO YOUR SHIFT

  • Access to the venue on Saturday will be via Carpark Entrance A, for everybody arriving by foot or by car. You can walk or drive into the carpark and follow the signage to the volunteer HQ. Navigate to Carpark Entrance A here.
  • Access the venue on Sunday via Gate 1 if you’re arriving by foot, or go to Carpark Entrance A if arriving by car. Navigate to Gate 1 here. Directional signage will be up to point you in the right direction.

CAR PARKING

The MCG has strict parking conditions and availability. We offer car parking to shift 1 volunteers only due to lack of public transport options at the time of shift commencement and spots available to us, but in order to redeem your car park (shift 1 only), we require the below information from you by Wednesday of event week:

  • Full Name
  • Car registration
  • Mobile (car parking QR code is sent via SMS)

POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

Always start and finish your shift at the Volunteer Head Quarters (located on level B1).

Your roles are defined and explained in brief toward the back of the Volunteer Handbook.

VOLUNTEER HANDBOOK – EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Everything you need to know is in this document, from what to bring and wear, what’s provided, public transport options, maps, emergency procedures and much more. Before emailing us with your questions, please ensure it hasn’t been answered already in the booklet. Alternatively, the online briefing sessions (Tuesday 6:30pm prior to the event) is a great opportunity to ask all your pressing questions.

FREE STOMP

A reminder that if you are rostered on for shift 2 (later start), and you would like to Stomp for free, this comes in the form of a credit toward our 2025 event. Stomping is hard and tiring work, we wouldn’t expect you to have a great stomp and then the energy to perform your shift. Plus there are no shower facilities to freshen up before your role face to face with participants.

First shift volunteers who have advised they’d like to do the free stomp can do so on the same day. Bibs will be available at Volunteer HQ post shift.
