FAQ’s

How old do I need to be to volunteer?
The minimum age is 14 years old. If you are 14 to 16 years old you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is to be present when you sign in on the day.
Can I bring a friend?
Of course! They’ll need to sign up via the form and if you’d like to be assigned a role together they’ll need to specify your name in the applicable space provided on the form
How do I get my free Stomp?

The free stomp option is available to our first shift volunteers only who start bright and early and finish their shift prior to the last wave time of stompers entering the course. First shift volunteers will be sent a PROMO code to register for the volunteer wave prior to the day and you’ll receive your bib to stomp with from the volunteer coordinator at the end of your shift.

What do I need to consider before volunteering?
The events have early morning start times from 5:30am in some cases, so you’ll need to consider your transport options in the event of public transport not being available
Can I choose my role?
You will be able to select your preferred role on the day and we will do our best to accommodate your first choice. Some roles, however, are invariably more popular than others and your first choice may not always be possible
Can I choose my shift time?
Generally we have the below shift times to choose from: Event set-up – this is not an event day shift. Dates and times vary but will generally be one or two days prior to event day. Times will be outlined in the application First Shift – You’ll be required on-site before the sun rises and finish mid-morning Second shift – start time between 9:00-11:00am (depending on venue) and also involves pack down of your area. Please note we can be flexible with your start time to a certain degree. We may be able to start or finish you later to accommodate your restrictions with getting to or leaving the venue
How will I know if my application has been received?
On completion of your registration as a volunteer you should receive a confirmation email immediately from us confirming that we have received your application. Please check your junk/ spam/ promotion folder if you do think you have received this
Can I change my availability once my application is in?
If you need to make changes to your application, change your role preference or your available times then please email volunteer@stadiumstomp.com
When will I receive my shift details?
Generally speaking we try to have a roster sent out within 3 weeks of the event however, if we are still recruiting this may not be possible. At the latest you’ll know your position and shift time a week out from the event
Do i need to do any training or induction for my role?
We do hold volunteer briefings at the venue in the week leading up to the event. Generally there will be a lunch time and after work time slot to chose from and all our volunteers are advised of these times closer to the date. Whilst it’s not compulsory, our briefings are a great way to familiarise yourself with the venue, gain a better understanding of your role, where in the venue you’ll be positioned and our emergency procedures.
What should I wear on the day?
You’ll be given a high visibility vest to wear on the day, which will need to be returned post shift. Make sure you’re warm and comfortable remembering that a stadium is often much colder to stand in than the general outdoors thanks to all that concrete. Please wear flat, closed toe shoes and we recommend layering up with your clothing so you can adjust with the temperature
Will I be given anything to eat or drink?
If you are volunteering on event day you will be provided with either a light breakfast and water or a sandwich or wrap and water for lunch. Other snacks will be available for you within volunteer headquarters. You are of course free to bring more food if you think you’ll need it. Course set-up shifts (prior to event day) will be fed pizza and water. Please ensure you have filled in any diet requirements in your application
Is there anywhere to store my things?
Your arrival and check-in point will be Volunteer Headquarters and you’ll be able to keep your belongings in this area. Volunteer HQ will be manned by a Stadium Stomp staff member, however we recommend you bring just the necessities as there are no lockers for guaranteed security of your belongings
